Fourth Edge-class cruise ship to enter service this December
New Celebrity Cruises ship Celebrity Ascent has completed sea trials with “flying colours”, according to cruise line representatives.
The fourth vessel in the line’s Edge class, which is scheduled to enter service in December 2023, completed a series of “manoeuvrability skills to test its functional and operational capabilities” in the Bay of Biscay near the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard where it is being built.
Nearly 200 crew members were on board for the trials alongside the industry’s first sibling cruise captains, brothers Demitrios and Tasos Kafetzis.
