Fred Olsen Cruise Lines to return to Australia

Destination will feature in 101-night sailing

Fred Olsen Cruises Lines will return to Australia for the first time in more than three years as part of a world cruise.

The 2024 World Cruise on Borealis, lasting 101 nights, will visit destinations including Australia, Hawaii, French Polynesia, Bali and Oman.

Martin Lister, Fred Olsen Cruise Lines’ head of itinerary planning and destination experience, said the company is “absolutely thrilled” about returning to Australia for the first time since 2020.

Lister said: “Together with our trusted partners, we have planned some incredible once-in-a-lifetime experiences to enable guests to truly immerse themselves in the destination they are visiting.”

Prices start at US$12,195 for the itinerary departing from Southampton, UK on 7 January 2024, and making stops to explore the rainforests of Costa Rica, Australia’s Uluru (also known as Ayers Rockand New Zealand’s vineyards – as well as a stint in rarely-visited Alotau in Papua New Guinea.

Lister added: “The waters around Hawaii are said to be some of the best for whale watching and we have timed this cruise to coincide with humpback whales making their annual migratory trip from the summer feeding grounds of Alaska.”

Passengers can also book fly-cruise sections of the cruise, including Borealis’ 53-night Liverpool to Sydney sailing departing from Liverpool, UK on 5 January 2024. Prices start at US$10,245 per person, with the itinerary featuring the coastline of Florida, three volcanic Hawaiian islands and New Zealand’s sounds (fjords).
