Focuses include 'long-term investment in trade partnerships'
HX (Hurtigruten Expeditions) has appointed Alex Delamere-White as chief commercial officer following his six-month term in the role on an interim basis.
Delamere-White said one of his main focuses would be making long-term investments in travel trade partners.
His appointment comes as HX brings its global functions “under one leadership model”, with the changes also leading to Jim Sayer being named senior vice-president for global marketing while Nathaniel Sherborne becomes European and global managing director and vice-president of sales enablement.
HX chief executive Daniel Skjeldam said: “As HX embarks on the next phase of its journey under our new name and brand, I look forward to seeing Alex and the team continuing to expand our position as world leaders in sustainable exploration travel.”

Delamere-White – described as a “well-seasoned FTSE 100 leader” – has experience in the cruise sector through Carnival UK. He served P&O Cruises, Cunard and Princess Cruises for more than a decade. Most recently, he was chief commercial officer for property developer McCarthy Stone.
“The last six months have seen pivotal change for HX, and I’m excited to see what the future holds for the business,” said Delamere-White. “My main focuses will be to continue to upweight our concentrated efforts on B2B, making long-term investments in our partnerships with the travel trade, as well as strengthening our commercial performance and resources globally.”
Sherborne’s tasks in his new role will include driving the co-ordination of B2B activities for HX globally.
