According to ForwardKeys, the emirate is the 7th most searched-for city
Data released by ForwardKeys has revealed that Dubai is the seventh most searched-for destination for long-haul travel for the 2023 summer travel season, up one position from last year.
Along with Dubai, the ranking of top 10 destinations includes Bangkok, New York, Bali, Paris, Los Angeles, London, Tokyo, Madrid and San Francisco.

During summer, Dubai is stiflingly hot but it continues to attract visitors by hosting several events and activations, including Dubai Summer Surprises, a mall-wide shopping festival offering retail discount, big prize raffles and added entertainment for children. The annual event has become popular with tourists.
Beyond its beaches and malls, Dubai also offers several indoor urban attractions, such as glamorous bars and restaurants, and Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest tower. The ForwardKeys study found that urban destinations have seen growth almost double compared to traditional beach destinations year-on-year.

A ForwardKeys spokesperson said: “This shift in consumer preference has been influenced by the return of Asian megacities as potential destinations, as well as an increase in indexed demand for global shopping hotspots like Dubai, Singapore, Paris and New York, creating significant opportunities for travel retailers.”
Dubai is also benefiting year from the return of Chinese tourists this year after three years of pandemic-related restrictions.
