Carrier provides meals for more that 77 million passengers a year
Offering an insight into the vast scale of its operations, Emirates has shared some facts about the number of chefs and products required to provide its dining in the sky service.
Emirates caters for 490 flights a day, with 149 meals served every minute, totalling 215,000 meals daily, and it takes 1400 chefs to make the meals at the Emirates Flight Catering Facility in Dubai and at partner caterers around the world.
First Class customers enjoyed unlimited caviar last year, consuming an impressive 10,350kg of the delicacy.

First and Business Class customers consumed 1.2 million beef tenderloin steaks in one year, as well as 14,000kg of Australian Yarra Valley feta cheese in salads dressed with 3.5 million single-serve bottles of mixed olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
In one year, Emirates served:
- 6,000,000kg of chicken
- 350,000kg of beef
- 266,000kg of Atlantic salmon fillets
- 2,200,000kg of potatoes
- 1,700,000kg of pasteurised eggs
- 3,100,000kg of breads and pastries
- 938,000kg of cream
- 32,000kg of Masala cashew nuts
- 98,000kg of strawberries
- 42,000kg of salad from Emirates-owned Bustanica, the world’s largest vertical farm
