Up to 40 hotels planned for Saudi’s ancient city
Marriott's Bab Samhan, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Diriyah is the first to open in Saudi Arabia’s birthplace city.
Diriyah is where the First Saudi State was established in 1727, and it is famous for its historical significance, ancient Najdi architecture, and Unesco World Heritage Site, At-Turaif.
At-Turaif offers a glimpse into the region's past with well-preserved and restored palaces, mosques and mudbrick structures emblematic of Najd, the central region of Saudi Arabia.
Positioned within alleyways, the hotel captures the region’s low-contour, mudbrick architecture with open courtyards and spaces to gather.
At check-in, guests are served stuffed dates, cardamom coffee chocolates and spiced fruit ice-teas in the lobby lounge, which is inspired by the traditional Arabian social places where tea and coffee is brewed over open fires.
The hotel has three restaurants, a spa, fitness centre and five flexible spaces, flooded with natural light, as well as a 400-square-metre ballroom that can accommodates up to 250 guests.
