Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group names SVP of Brand

Alex Schellenberger will be charged with increasing the brand's desirability

Mandarin Oriental has announced the appointment of Alex Schellenberger as senior vice president, Brand to support the strategic vision of Mandarin Oriental to elevate its presence and increase its desirability as a luxury hospitality brand. 

With more than two decades in global luxury brand building, storytelling and brand experience roles, Schellenberger brings invaluable insights and expertise to this newly created global role and will be joining the group leadership team.

Schellenberger has previously worked with Procter & Gamble, Coty and Swarovski, leading transformative marketing and communication initiatives to redefine and reposition beauty and luxury goods brands. Most recently, he held the position of global chief marketing officer for Accor based in Paris.

Schellenberger will be based at the group's head office in Hong Kong.

Recently, Jumeirah Group announced the appointment of Michael Grieve as its new chief brand officer, responsible for spearheading the evolution of the hotel chain as part of its Mission 2030 strategy. Formerly vice president of Brand and Client for Gucci, Grieve will join Jumeirah in their Dubai office in April 2024.
