Marriott to launch Le Méridien hotel brand in Zanzibar

Le Méridien Zanzibar Resort will feature just 75 rooms

Marriott International has announced that it will introduce Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts to Zanzibar in 2025.  

Le Méridien Zanzibar Resort will be situated in Bwejuu, which is on the Eastern coast of Zanzibar Island and offer uninterrupted Indian Ocean beach vistas and immersive experiences that will help guests explore the destination.

Plans for the resort include a specialty restaurant, an open-air bar and recreational facilities, including a fitness centre, spa, kids' club, swimming pool and lagoon.

Marriott International regional vice president of Development, Africa Karim Cheltout said:  “Zanzibar continues to grow as a sought-after leisure destination and we are committed to continuing to support the overall growth of the tourism sector in Tanzania.
