Airline's innovative features include headrest speakers, high-speed wi-fi and 4K touchscreens
Saudi Arabia’s new airline Riyadh Air has revealed its cabin interiors as it prepares to begin operations this year.
As with the airline’s cabin crew uniform, unveiled in Paris during Haute Couture Week in 2024, cabin designs draw on Saudi heritage in the colour palette and choice of materials, with a signature “canopy twist” design inspired by traditional Arabic tents.
Passengers will also experience innovative technology, befitting a carrier that describes itself as the “world’s first digital-native airline”.
Riyadh Air’s Boeing 787-9 fleet will carry an identical configuration to make each flight familiar for up to 290 passengers across four cabin classes.
There are four Business Elite seats and 24 in Business, both in a 1-2-1 configuration and featuring a 78-inch fully flat bed layout, 52-inch privacy walls and privacy dividers between centre seats.
Business Elite has a double bed in the centre front seats while all seats in both Business Elite and Business come with A/C power and multiple USB charging points.
Premium Economy has 39 seats in a 2-3-2 layout with privacy head wings, increased storage and a side table design, plus four USB charge points. Economy has 223 seats in a 3-3-3 format with six-way adjustable headrests and two USB charging points.
Tony Douglas, CEO of Riyadh Air said the design, layout and features of the new cabins have been “carefully crafted” to ensure flights are as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
“From the ergonomic and luxurious fabrics in the seats to the high-end technology used in the entertainment systems, every facet of the cabins has been chosen to deliver relaxing luxury.”
