First Look: Hotel of Ice, Transylvania, Romania

Transylvania’s Hotel of Ice reopened its doors in December 2025 with a new theme. Freshly carved every winter with ice taken from a nearby glacial lake, the hotel relaunched this season with a musical theme and ice sculptures of instruments and famous classical musicians. Nestled between the icy peaks of Romania's Făgăraș Mountains, and only reachable by cable car, the hotel features 12 cosy igloo-style rooms, an ice bar and a restaurant serving reimagined ancient Transylvanian dishes. The hotel’s Winter Park offers snowshoeing and sledding activities, while Untravelled Paths operates excursions from the hotel.
